RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

RPL refers to the formal identification, assessment and acknowledgement of the full range of an individual’s skills, knowledge and capabilities, irrespective of how and where they have been acquired. It is the acknowledgement of skills, competencies, knowledge and work ethos obtained through:

  • Formal, informal or non-formal training
  • on-the-job experience
  • life experience

Participants are encourage to think about their learning experience, which may enable them to be granted exemptions for subjects within the course they wish to be enrolled in with BEC.

By recognising the participants past experience and achievements, BEC ensures that the participants do not repeat the skills and knowledge they have already achieved by conducting the RPL assessment
